I just tried the same test of opening an imap connection and APPENDing lots
of mail to various new mailboxes in there (Courier -> cyrus move), with new
cvs code, so the 2.2 line of code, and still:
PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPUCPU COMMAND
3518 cyrus 20
On my old UW POP server I added a patch to limit the polling frequency. Rather than
just apply a fixed minimum time interval I made it give some flexibility. The patch
allows users to do a few checks in quick succession but would fail if the longer
term rate was too high. This is something wh

Hmm... thanks. It appears that there's something lacking in my
understanding of the authentication scheme, but the posts on this thread
have given me some idea where to look and learn. I'll inc

Hello List,
We have a Cyrus 2.1.12 on a Suse 8.2 running, everythings runs fine
except that some customers get mails, that cannot be download via pop3
or Imap.
The Download Starts and after a while The Client makes an tomeout.
We testet several Clients and it is not client depended.

I have a couple of questions for the build of cyrus-imapd-2.2.2-BETA.
I get a couple of errors on building and was wondering if it was

It might be interesting to add that only certain mechanism provide
so-called "proxy" authentication (authcid/authzid separation; how would
this feature be called ?). PLAIN and DIGEST-MD5 are the one I know for
sure provide it, while CRAM-MD5 don't. I am not sure about GSSAPI,

Sorry, I deleted the mail, so I don't have your e-mail now and this might be
educational to the list.
This is what I've learned about SASL so far.
SASL provides an interface for applications - servers and clients - to perform
authentication, using more or less secure mechanisms. Among some popu

Hi!
I'm trying to compile the new version of cyrus on my computer, but I
fail miserably. If I just do standard 'configure...', 'make depend...'

Hi folks
I've noticed a fair few questions on the list since I've been subscribed
that ask about authentication. I'd go so far as to say that it's the #1
or #2 topic (behind migration or mailbox recovery). Perhaps I can do
something to help, as a non-coder.
I know that when setting up Cyrus I
