Starting from scratch, I downloaded:
cyrus-sasl-1.5.24
cyrus-imapd-2.0.16
I built cyrus-sasl with
./configure --enable-login --enable-plain --enable-anon
--disable-gssapi --disable-krb4 --disable-digest --disable-cram
--with-pwcheck=/var/pwcheck
and tried to build cyrus-imapd with
./configu

It looks like using Net::IMAP is much easier for your app, so I hacked
up a quick AUTH=PLAIN patch for it.
There is a Authen::SASL package for Perl that might bear some
investigation. It would be ultracool

I have been building my development system up to upgrade to
cyrus-imapd-2.0.16 for a long time now. I am running HP-UX 11.0, and have
installed Berkeley DB 3.3.11 and Sasl 1.5.24. I have no errors when
compiling, and have my pwcheck running, and my master (finally). But, I
guess I've not build cyr

With sendmail version < 8.12, all is rigth only using IPC in the mailer
definition in sendmail.cf while Cyrus deliver does not work.
Now, after sendmail 8.12, IPC is not supported so I can't upgrade sendmail
on my Cyrus server.

Well, IMAP works perfectly, mail get delivered, and I can login and
fetch mail, create folders, etc.. b
one of the problems could be that you didn't create mailboxes for users
using cyradm. in that case imap auth works fine, but pop3 fails.

Hi,
I'm using the IMAPd with PAM and pam_mysql, and it works great, and as I
found need to have POP3 aswell, I though I could just enable that in
cyrus.conf and copy pam config.
But that didn't seem to work. I'm not using pam.d, but pam.conf, and the
lines for imap and pop3 are identical.
