I tried both those changes, adding the margins settings and switching to A4 and
still get the same results…

Hi Marisa,
If you switch to A4 paper, then your document will automatically fit
within the page margin's without printing over the page heading on the
second page.
If you want to continue to use US Letter, then, see the documents
attached. The only changes I've made were adding:
.HEADER_MARGIN .

With .FT
.FT I = italic
.FT B = bold
It can also be done inline with \*[IT] or \*[BD]
A sentence with \*[IT]italics\*[PREV]
Hi Marisa,
A partial answer...

.FT http://www.schaffter.ca/mom/momdoc/typesetting.html#font
Cheers, Ralph.
Im switching from the mm macro set to mom, and i have a couple questions:
1) how do i do thing like bold or italic?
2) on my output the body text goes from the top margin down, above the page
headers and in fact appears on top of the headers mashed up.
Any help?

Ah. Sorry for giving bad advice, then.
(I figured that since the register gets removed anyway in
the course of events, setting it temporarily wouldn't hurt
in the long run.)
