The heuristics apparently did fail. Not only that, the
procmail trick mentioned in the FAQ failed as well, using
version 3.11-pre7.

I just checked the source for Majordomo 1.94.4, and it
includes a command
config LIST PASSWORD
which returns a configuration file to be edited. One
of the options in the file is called "message_headers"

Since then, all archived messages the pen-l list has been stored in
the pen-l%40csf.colorado.edu directory, instead of the
pen-l%40galaxy.csuchico.edu directory. Each message contains an
X-Mailing-List header with the correct li
