While we are at it, I want to thank Jeff myself. Sometimes I have to pinch
myself to figure out whether I am dreaming or not. To have such
well-maintained archives at no cost and without any ads in this society and
in this age is hard to believe.

The problem is, on May 9, mail-archive wrongly decided
that there was a list called "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" which
has been steadily accumulating mail.
The time f bogus list creation may correspond to a period when the
sort engine was running suboptimally due to "grep" failing in
all_matches() due t
