my 2c worth:
just as important as decent search functionality is the ability to
quickly review the results for relevance.
one of the things I like about Google is the keywords being *bolded* in
the search results (like mail-archive.com already does) but in using
Google's "cached" link, show
just over the past week, mail-archive saved my bacon a number of times,
what with all the programming lists I'm on, etc.
being able to search and follow up threads has really helped. I wouldn't
exactly be useless without M-A but I'd be severly hampered.

I'm not sure if there are hidden gotchas.
In any case, M-A uses the stock address detector
that ships with mhonarc. Barry, please consider filing
the feature request directly with mhonarc in order to
have maximum impact.
