Has anyone gotten Gentoo to work on a Alienware Area-51m 7700 or Sentia? I
am leaning towards the Sentia since I still get performance and mobility
without the bulk of the Area-51m 7700.
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone had success installing Gentoo 2005.0 on a Dell Latitude D610?
Specifically I'm worried about getting the ATI RADEON X300 video card
and the Intel PRO/Wireless 2915 working. I don't foresee any problems
with the Sigmatel sound, Broadcom wired network, DVD+-RW, or hard drive.
Thanks in a
We have several Dell Precision workstations (530, 610,
and 620 models) with 3Com 3c905 10/100 NICs. We'd like
to upgrade the NICs to GB. Which GB PCI card would you
recommend to work with Gentoo 2005.0 running Linux 2.6.12-gentoo-r4?
Intel, Broadcom, 3Com?
Thanks.

Has anyone gotten Gentoo 2006.0 installed using the x86
livecd installer on a HP DL580? On my DL580, it loads
the cciss driver and the partitions show up in /proc/partitions.
However both the console and gui installation don't find
a hard drive to partition. The console installer crashes

Could someone recommend an amd64 box to use with Gentoo 2006.0?
I had considered one of the following workstations; has anyone had
good or bad experience with these workstations and Gentoo for amd64?
HP xw9300
Sun Ultra 40
IBM IntelliStation A Pro
Alienware MJ-12 7550a

I am trying to install gnucash 1.8.9 on Gentoo 2005.1, and all
the dependencies install fine but during the build of gnucash,
I get the following error. Has anyone else seen where it could
not find the library gwrap-glib?
gcc -shared .libs/gw-core-utils.o -Wl,--rpath
-Wl,/var/tmp/portage/gnucas
It looks like g-wrap wasn't installed. I emerged g-wrap and then emerged
gnucash, and it worked like a charm.
