Something must have changed on my ISP's end when my router tried to
dhcp via the Damn Small Linux LiveCD. It had been running dhcp just
fine ever since I switched to this ISP (Cox) and failed every time

Apparently -s /sbin/nologin wasn't such a good idea since the user
then can't log in via GDM. Makes sense. I want the user to be able
to log in via GDM but not via ssh. Is that configured in ssh?

I swapped out my Sempron for an Athlon X2 4000+, but when I have
"Symmetric multi-processing support" enabled in the 2.6.24-hardened-r2
kernel, the system freezes as soon as the madwifi wireless interface
starts in master mode. Weird. Any ideas?

list. When I try to run xscreensaver in glslideshow mode, I get
"child pid terminated with signal 9". Google doesn't seem to be too

xsane fully works with my old USB scanner (Epson Perfection 636U) as
long as I'm root. Does anyone know how to make it work as a normal
user?
