I've been wondering how one can clone an entire gentoo system and copy it to
another physical machine , while the original system is still running (
means , ghost , acronis and other tools that force me to shutdown the system
are not acceptable )
So , someone told me to try just "tar" th
It is a running gentoo system in this case
But it doesnt make a difference to me. I want to know generally.
anyway I will try what everyone wrote here and we'll see how it goes.

I am actually quite new to Gentoo , so give me a break if my question is a
newbie one.
anyway , while installing Gentoo , I got to the point where I want to
compile the kernel , and for that I've done the following :
emerge --sync
it did the sync , but stated at the end that I must
e the same with
the CFLAGS .. ? )

When running emerge -p for some package , one gets for each dependency and
package a list of USE flags at the end of the line.
some are colored in red , some blue
what are the differences ?

I've been trying to configure hibernation to work on my netbook , and
for some reason it doesnt work
when I go to hibernate , and then power up again , it starts as if from scratch
what can i check ?
