+1 for genlop. Also, if you're upgrading a number of large packages,
it can help to have an estimate of how long you'll be compiling:
$ emerge -p
I thought if root= is not set to /dev/ram0 the kernel doesn't use the
initramfs as "first" root.
The server is on a remote location so i can't see if it correctly starts
the /linuxrc in the initramfs.
The server boots without problems, i just wanted to check if root=
shouldn't be set to root=/dev

That is alright folks. I figured out what the problem with Easytag is.
Whenever saving tags with odd characters it would crash out. Guess I
will have to just change the characters.

Last time I looked, qlop did not provide any estimate of time remaining.

These are the use flags for easytag

Hi All,
Could someone point out what's the deal with the following:
% emerge --oneshot virtual/os-headers
Calculating dependencies... done!
>>> Verifying ebuild manifests
>>> Starting parallel fetch

Running easytag from a terminal emulator gives you any further hints
about the error?
By the way, a good pygtk based tag-editor I could recommend is exfalso
(I would also recommend picard, but it's qt based...).
