This is definitely possible with CUPS - just create a queue and select "Raw"

According to the Gentoo Printing Guide -> Installing
the Printer, I'm to go to http://localhost:631 and
then click on "Administration". Well, there's "Do
Administrative Tasks", so I clicked on that. The guide
says to "enter root login and password" into the box
