just did this today, i didnt seem to see the REgenerating notice when i did just the gentoo kernel, but when i need to get my video card working better, and booted with the gentoo-nofb it did pause at Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache but only for maybe 15 seconds, and this is on an old 1.2Ghz Duron

Hi, I recentlly downloaded livecd 2006 from one of Gentoo's mirrors (UV). I checked it with its md5sum, and, as it was correct, I burned it. But, when I try to boot with the livecd, it starts fine untill when it tries to regenerate ld.so.cache, where it hangs... it stops at: >>Regenerating /etc/l
