It's the new set syntax, available in recent 2.2 portages. I believe there is
some support in recent 2.1 as well
I'm sorry but I have never used @system and @world. What is the difference and
why the new syntax. I will surely rtfm.

But how it comes that
emerge --depclean -p
tells me
* Dependencies could not be completely resolved due to
* the following required packages not being installed:
*
* ~x11-libs/qt

Thanks, this shows all packages which depend on qt:4.5 (e.g.)
Since I have q
emerge --unmerge =x11-libs/qt-4.5.1
The meta package is no longer used.

Hi,
again, portage's dependencies caculation makes me wonder.
This time,
emerge --update --newuse --deep @system @world
tells me quite a few dependencies like
* ~x11-libs/qt-core-4.5.1 pulled in by:
* x11-libs/qt-4.5.1
I do have x11-libs/qt-core-4.5.2 and x11-libs/qt-4.5.2 installed.
