Oh, qmail, I don't really know how they work
for me the best and the easiest are postfix,
Perhaps someone else could help you about qmail
You can force qmail to use your host file, just install dnsmasq,
move your resolv.conf to resolv.orig.conf
and create this one:
search jasoncarson.ca
nameserv
> Push this:

>
> in your host file
> remove reference to jasoncarson.ca in the 127.0.0.1 lines

in your host file
remove reference to jasoncarson.ca in the 127.0.0.1 lines
