[gentoo-user] Probably lost all conf files...

I have installed the system from Kanotix live-CD, however I can't access /dev/hda3 on my HD. Kernel boots just fine. Since I think I had to save conf files somewhere else, how can I copy, for instance, /etc/fstab in my newly installed Gentoo? I can't save it on my floppy too. Thanks in advance.
