It is ok I just created a /etc/devfs.d directory.
This might have comed from what I had runned previously:
emerge --update --deep world
etc-update

I had at least one udev-update since then, without changes.
The box reacts to the sysrq-keys, so I am able to reboot - and the reboot is
always successfull.
