There is something wrong about the network of my lab, then
the emerge --sync can't suceed.
I noticed that rsync freezed at receiving file list, but
it didn't in fact and it just didn't print the process
of receiving the file list. This is a change in emerge system.
You can enable the original act
Now I find the problem is caused by utf-8.
My local changed from zh_CN.GB2312 to zh_CN.utf8 recently.
But I don't know how to correct.

In a shellp script, let
STRING="a.txt b.txt c.txt"
And I want to delete a sub-string from $STRING, for example
b.txt, and then we got
$STRING is "a.txt c.txt"
How to achieve it?

I can't emerge --sync after portage-2.1_pre7-r5 installed.
The process freezed on receiving file list.
I think it's the bug of portage-2.1_pre7-r5, so I downgraded
to portage-2.1_pre3-r1.

AZixMapping doesn't work.
I think it's for mouse driver of x, not for synaptics drivers!

The following is touchpad part of my xorg.conf file:

I use synaptics driver for my alps touchpad.
Everything else works finely except one thing:
my up scroll key scolls down and down up.
How to solve it?

Every time when I run emerge -u world, the kernel will be updated if
it have some update.
I delete the kernel line in /var/lib/portage/world, but it doesn't
help.
The most recent output of emerge -au world is as following:
[ebuild U ] sys-process/procps-3.2.6 [3.2.5-r1]
[ebuild U ] s
I enabled the glx, but it seems the speed is still slow.
$ glxinfo | grep rendering
direct rendering: Yes
The output of glxgears is about 130 FPS.
I use intel_agp.
$ lsmod
mach64 54144 1
drm75672 2 mach64
intel_agp 23324 1
agpgart
vesa driver is the last resort!

My suspend2 works, but still have the following problem:
1. After resuming, x windows doesn't work well.
The screen is dusky, and it comes back normally
only after I switch to console and then switch
