I had 2 Nvidia videos cards, running 2 monitors, with X spanning both

One card died and I replaced it with a Radeon video card. Can I still

Yes, that was the correct answer. Added "net.ifnames=0" to GRUB and
everything is happy. Much thanks for your responses. I am always

Hello,
I am incurring a strange problem when trying to burn DVDs. When I
apply the command:
# growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/sr0 -R -J test/
I get the following output:
Executing 'mkisofs -R -J test/ | builtin_dd of=/dev/sr0 obs=32k seek=0'

Strangely, my /proc/cmdline is empty; could I have forgotten some
kernel module or option?

Hello,
I was wondering whether there is some way to find out the current
running softlevel (which I gave to the kernel line in grub's
menu.lst), for example to start another window manager depending on
the softlevel or whatever other possible solutions? Maybe in a
variable like $SOFTLEVEL ?

Hi,
I am using gentoo since one month. Today I tried an emerge --update system
after an emerge --sync.
However, I got an error emerging util-linux.
I am using a custom compiled vanilla kernel from kernel.org. uname -a says:

I have a problem with a script refering to several tools, one is "hd"

Searching has proved fruitless, I *think* it may be a Debian tool/script.

I had to move my linux partition from /dev/hda3 to /dev/hda1
I have altered /etc/fstab to reflect the move, along with /boot/grub/menu.lst
yet everytime I boot I still get the following error.
