I have a Gentoo machine, which has not been updated for a while. Quite
a long while, actually.
Now I needed to install a package, and I did so. It went up, no
problem. Except that it relies on a newer version of openrc than
what's on the system. From here it's all downhill:

libraries is pretty cool for building both 64 and 32 bit libs.
But it has it's problems, it seems.

different subscribers, so your simple email generated some 45GB

really understand.
I want to install some packages with docs but emerge tells me that it
can't do that. Quite interestingly it complains about blocked packages.
One of them is openrc and the other is linux-util. I don't want
