OK. It's a multilib problem on my end. colord built with
USE="abi_x86_32" should pull in sqlite built with USE="abi_x86_32" but it
doesn't.
Workaround: ABI_X86="32" emerge sqlite colord

I just could not resist this article::

When folks start spending millions and millions on chips (processors)
specific to cluster needs, the roll out of clusters is only going to
accelerate, imho.
enjoy!

I think this is the exact bug I have, so go ahead and file the bug since
it looks like no one is fixing it on their own
I've been having a similar problem with colord not finding its sqlite
dependency via pkgconfig even though it's there. I haven't filed a bug yet
though.

For the last few times I have done a world update I have beenunable to
update x11-misc/colord because it says it can't find the .pc file. Its
definitely there in /usr/lib64 and I even forced the PKGPATH, but still
no joy. I have done some googling, but I could find nothing of
interest. Anyone

Why?
You either have them running on different ports (mighty unusual) or,
more likely or different NICs.
So put them on two different machines. Hardware is dirt cheap and unless

Been getting this in my email every morning for several days now. Rather
expected it to clear by now, but since it hasn't, and googling doesn't seem to
indicate anyone has noted the issue...

Hello.
You know, this is very unusual configuration. I don't even can imagine why
you need both of them.
In order to resolve mutual block, you need to remove "!mail-mta/postfix"
and "!mail-mta/exim" strings from RDEPEND in both packages. Don't forget to
place modified ebuilds to local overlay.

Hello Guys
I need to install postfix and exim at the same Gentoo server.
I know it is unusual configuration ).
I have both MTA running at CentOS and trying to migrate to Gentoo.
Current error message for "emerge -pv exim" is:
