On many emerge downloads I'm getting "checksum failure".
Portage goes off somewhere else & finds the needed file,
but it also writes the failed version into 'distfiles', which fills it up
& sooner (on my old box) or later (on the regular box) needs to be rm'd.
Is there any way to prevent this ?

HI Petri,
as far as I understand the linked page, dvbscan is used for
creating a frequency/channel list...the famous channels.conf-file.
I need the EPG data -- the Electronic Program Guide.
In the meanwhile I found tvheadend, which seems to do, what
I want and some additional extras and good

Hi,
I had this problem a while ago with one computer. I think I solved it
with dvbscan program. I think it can be found in
media-tv/linuxtv-dvb-apps ebuild. If you need support for using the
software a referense might be
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Dvbscan .

That's why I didn't post the vdr results.

Yes, same what I did.
I dont want to install vdr just for the reason to generate
a textfile with a program guide.
And in my initial posting I mentioned, that I use a dvb-t card
as source, therefore nxtvepg is not useable for this purpose

Hi list!
I'm building a new Gentoo system (notebook) and want to rearrange a few
things. I thought it would be good to have the following layout:
- boot on a normal partition
- root on a normal partition
- one big encrypted partition (dmcrypt / LUKS)
- on that partition an LVM volume group

Yes ... nothing found...may be in the lack of the correct spelling
