I'm using xorg 7.2.0 with open source drivers on an ati card. How would
I calibrate my monitor? i.e. what a photographer or graphics person
would want to to, do ensure I'm seeing accurate colors on my screen?

ideas for USE and other settings also welcome.

Openvpn is highly unstable? really? mine's been up for days.
NFS is highly unstable? Hardly. Perhaps you mean that it's unstable

gentoo-devhelp (bug #130886) would be the right list if it existed.
Unfortunately it still does not. So until it does this is the right list.

I found that composite being enabled in Xorg was the cause of Xine
hanging for me, much like you describe.
I removed it and now Xine works great.

This was happening even before I added composite, though perhaps more

It isn't good idea to mount nfs over openvpn. Both are highly unstable.
You should try openssh and it's simple tunnel and ftp over it or any other
networked file system. If you really need to use nfs set it to use tcp.

Hi there,
I think you'll find that pretty much all the firewire enclosures use
the same chipset(s), (Oxford?)

Also, I have a series of files as a result of starting and

Great frontend for "dvd+rw-tools and cdrecord". Runs like a charm on

Also if you like bloatware/KDE, try app-cdr/k3b . Nicer GUI and runs

I have installed E17 and it's very cool, especially with composite. I am
running into a problem though. When running KDE apps, from time to time, I
have to remove ~/.ICEauthority to get them to start. Is this something I'll
have to live with? Or, is there a fix?
