The gnupg module for squirrelmail has been a thorn in the side of the package maintainers for some time. It's been removed in unstable, and the conflict has been resolved. Get squirrelmail-1.4.13-r1 and you shouldn't have the problem, but you won't get gnupg. On Mon, 2008-03-24 at 18:29 -0400, R

If it requires GnuPG, then I would suspect you're losing the ability for users to encrypt/decrypt messages through the Squirrelmail interface, or something similar. It wouldn't be something having to do with the security of the web application itself, I wouldn't think. --Todd Randy Barlow wr
