I would like to reserve GID 44 for crontab which is being used by
sys-process/cronie. That group does neither exist in Arch nor in
Fedora, so I took the liberty to choose one GID that I can memorize
easily :)

Arch is using UID/GID 22 while Fedora does not have such a user/group.
