64bit windows apps, that aren't around. maybe you might try to compile it with -m64 instead of -m32, but i don't know if it will work and even if it works you'll then need native windows 64bit apps. the other choice is to have a no-multilib 64bit system and build another chroot for 32bit, in which to install only the needed 32bit apps with only needed use flags. if you just use wine you could pick a 32bit tar release from funtoo, and build in that chroot only wine with stripped flags. you shouldn't need so many packages for this. then just adjust your server to the right output (usually running on 0:0) will do and will start your 32bit app in the same screen as the one you're using (since usually xorg uses 0:0). -- dott. ing. beso

and in a development svn you'll most likely to have them at least once every two weeks. so paludis forces you to manually resync for a previous version and hope it works. sometimes you might end up doing more than one resync per package, and for big ones like amarok, k3b kdepim is meaning a lot of headache. at lest with binpkgs you can always revert back when something is not working. -- dott. ing. beso

rt with a stage 3 installed and rebuild everything installed with emerge -e world before putting in something else. have you remembered to do an update-env && source /etc/profile after chrooting into gentoo?! usually your issue could be due to portage not finding the right profile. also you should do an emerge --sync && source /etc/profile (no more that 2 a day or you'll get banned temporary from the gentoo server) before trying to compile something. if there are problems with the profile that should fix the issues. -- dott. ing. beso
