Trust me this time :) You don't have nvidia devices /dev/nvidia0 /dev/nvidiactl unofrtunately they are not created automatically withthe new kernel (although some reports vary), and you have to do it manually. There is a lot of discussion on that in gentoo forums. Some nvidia-kernel packages c

Sorry, I'm still on alsa-1.0.9 and with 2.6.13 newer alsa with changed drivers came. BTW, if what you do does not work, you can try to disable alsa in kernel (leaving only general sound support) and emerge alsa-driver It is stil at 1.0.9b for amd64 and will install old drivers. They did work
