There was a discussion on the log4cxx list on March 1st and 2nd so Thorsten is
aware. He also accepted the invite to be a Logging Services committer.
Yes, the vote had to happen on the private list. The Logging PMC is looking at
ways to correct that.

That link doesn't work for me (its a logging PMC only link). I'm worried
about the vote happening in private but think I understand why.

Log4cxx was originally a sub-project of the Logging Services. In 2013 several
users became frustrated that they were submitting patches but there were no
committers who could apply them. The Logging Services PMC was not comfortable
making them committers as that would have given them commit righ
