Rasterio's tests are broken by changes coming in GDAL 3.11.0, but for known
and understood reasons. I'm fine with the release.

Are the source rasters of a VRT added to the block cache such that
different VRTs using the same source can avoid reads from disk or the
network? Or is it intended that the VSI cache covers this need instead?

Hi Jon,
The number one gotcha with patching is documented here
https://docs.python.org/3/library/unittest.mock.html#where-to-patch. In a
nutshell, you have to patch your own module. I see you're patching gdal in
your tests. Patching gdal from your test doesn't do anything, it's too
late.
Hope thi
t offers much performance benefit.

Hi,
Another approach, also involving a copy, is to read the raster data as
numpy arrays and compute the statistics of those arrays. The GDAL method
also has to read the raster data to compute statistics, of course, but
doesn't store the entirety of it in memory.

That makes sense.
Given all this, I think I'll modify my error recording approach to also use
the return values of functions. The combination of errors and return values
will be enough information to determine whether rasterio should raise a
Python exception.

Hi all,
The intent and scope of the features developed in
https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/pull/5463 and
https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/pull/5390 seem rather big and unclear to me.
This seems to me to warrant an RFC. Yes? No?

Do we intend to support this or is it a missing feature?

Oops, forgot to reply to the list. Also, to be more specific, could we hold

say using https://pypi.org/project/pytest-random-order/, and fix the

To me, it seems that the parameterization or description of coordinate
epochs in OGC 19-005r4 is a bit sketchy.
Even, are you saying that coordinate shifts in PROJ are entirely functions
of the datetime delta since the coordinate epoch?
