Thanks Even. It also looks like gdal_merge always uses nearest neighbor
interpolation, which is another reason we’ll have to use gdalwarp instead.

I've generated a new RC with the fix for the OSM regression fixed by Kurt
(https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/changeset/35846). This is the only change since
RC2.
