[gdal-dev] Most optimal algorithm for contour correctness?

2013-02-13 Thread nav
Am creating an app which correctly calculates contours from a DEM file or any height-map given to it. The correctness of the contour holding the most importance, since a person viewing the contours shouldn't end up taking wrong planning decisions and maybe losing their life by the route they choose

Re: [gdal-dev] GeoTIFF with LZW compression Overviews error

2013-02-13 Thread Frank Warmerdam
Fabian, I'm assuming you mean gdaladdo is run on y.tif, the output of gdalwarp, right? I tried the steps with a manufactured input file of the same size and did not encounter the problem on my system. The most likely important difference is that I am not using libtiff 3.9.4 - I'm using libtiff 4

[gdal-dev] GeoTIFF with LZW compression Overviews error

2013-02-13 Thread Fabian Schindler
Dear devs, I'm experiencing strange errors when I try to add overviews to specific GeoTIFF files with internal tiling and LZW compression. This error shows only on some (about 3-5%) of the input files. This is how I process the file: $gdal_translate -gcp 0 0 19.09 49.22 -gcp 100 0 20.1 49.11

[gdal-dev] compile gdal with xml support

Hello 2 all! I am forced to compile the newest gdaldev version by myself with expat and xerces support. I did the necessary changes in nmake.opt like described on http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/BuildingOnWindows Basic and Advanced Options. First I got some LNK1104 Errors due to bad file paths to

Hi Robert, Jukka, FWIW, WCS 1.x is deprecated and superseded by WCS 2.0 (for which GeoServer recently has added support, too, following MapServer and others). -Peter On 02/13/2013 10:59 AM, Robert Kulawik wrote: Thank you Jukka, has someone from the GDAL guys a solution or idea to get a co

I've uploaded my GeoTiff to my GeoServer after I called nearblack -white on the result of gdaladdo. This tiff did have some white artefacts, but they are not visually blocking as you can see here: http://www.smartdakscan.nl/website/tmp/artifacts.png http://www.smartdakscan.nl/website/tmp/artifacts-
