It is stored in the header. You can use "ECW Header Editor" to display

Nick,
Nice to see you here.
You may want to try
http://code.google.com/p/osm2shp/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/osm2shpjava/
or use
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osm2pgsql
and convert to a shapefile from PostGIS.
The last choice requires a postgresql/postgis setup but is very well teste
Nicholas,
OSM format has way too many tags. Also, it would just be a readonly driver.
Refer to the following links for some ways to export osm data to other
formats.

Hi all,
open street map has a lot of data in an XML format. This format isn't listed amongst the compatible formats on http://www.gdal.org/ogr/ogr_formats.html Is there any recommendations for how to translate osm files into shapefiles or mapinfo tables?

Nikolaos,
The ZMapPlus is an old format used to store gridded data in an ASCII line
format for transport and storage. It is Landmark Corp. format that many of the

For reasons to long to go into, it's handy for me to link PROJ4

have it forward the data finder info to static PROJ4? I can easily hack
such a thing but

Hello Antonio,
I'll read the specs regarding JaxaPalser type, out software is reading those
and they look well, but I didn't analyze the format in detail. I've also
added georeferencing (Calculating the affine transform based on the 4

Folks,
I would like to prepare a 1.8.1 release candidate in the next couple days.
Developers are encouraged to address any bug fixes they would like promptly.
Is there anything folks feel strongly needs to be addressed in 1.8.1 that
has not yet made it into the 1.8 branch?
Best regards,
