Re: [gdal-dev] OGR projections - towgs84 issue

Steve, when you specify a proj.4 string to GDAL/OGR, it doesn't keep it verbatim but translates it into its internal SRS model (based on WKT format). When it must pass a SRS back to proj.4, it translates from this model. During this translation, if it detects an explicit datum known by PROJ.4,

[gdal-dev] OGR projections - towgs84 issue

2010-01-29 Thread Steve Riddell
When trying to transform a projected coordinate (UTM 14) from WGS84 to NAD83, using the OGRCoordinateTransformation class, my transformed output point exactly matches my input point, even though I have specified valid, non-zero +towgs84 parameters for the NAD83 coordinate system. If I do the s

As your GDAL installation looks to work OK, you might get better help by the GeoServer/ImageIOExt community as it might be more related to the ImageIOExt/GDAL integration itself. Le Friday 29 January 2010 23:02:59 David Boyd, vous avez écrit : > Even: >Thanks. I found part of the issue. Ap

Even: Thanks. I found part of the issue. Apparently I had the ECW version of the library (instead of the base one) and was getting a unresolved dynamic link error. Now NITF is an available option. Unfortunatly, I can still not get it to load. Now I am getting an error in the log about an Il

David, If you just need reading uncompressed or JPEG compressed NITF, you don't have to bother with MrSID or ECW. Those formats are totally unrelated. Except if you want to read JPEG2000 compressed NITF files, in which case you need to have a GDAL build with a JPEG2000 capable driver (Kakadu, M

All: Sorry for the newbie question. I have searched archives and not seen an answer. I am setting up a Geoserver system on 64 bit Linux (CENTOS) and need support for NITF formats. I installed the lastest imageioext binaries but none of the additional GDAL formats show up. I have verified a

I am also using the netCDF driver to read weather data from a thredds server. I am curious how the tag names for the metadata were defined in the driver. For example, the CF convention for the central meridian is "longitude_of_central_meridian" and in the netCDF driver it is "central_meridian".
