Is there a plan to build FWTools binaries for Win64 version? I am using the
gdal_csharp library and gdal utilities and need to deploy this on Vista-64 bit
machines. Currently running into "invalid format" problems.

try to merge adjoin two strips into one image(such as A), and merge A and the
adjoin strips into B, ..., you will have the reason of black strip.
I think that the reason maby be the data itself or one strip's geotransform
para error.

Have you tried to use gdalwarp instead of gdal_merge.py ? AFAIK,
gdal_merge.py is only an example of a Python script, the correct too

it is very difficult - i open the 11 files now again in the
OpenEV-Viewer and every time it is ANOTHER picture that will not be show
!
Did you think it could be a problem by the memory (3 GB) ???

I have a problem with Jpeg compressed Tiff images ang GDAL 1.7 since
revision 17563
The Geotiff driver can no longer read some of these images.
These images have all the same characteristics :
- GeoTiff Image
- Jpeg Compression
- RGB BitsPerSample 8
- Photometric=YCbCr
- Not Tiled
- W
