For another point of reference, I see this problem in our GCC 4.3.1 build; but
the problem did not occur in our gcc 4.3.0 and 4.3.2 versions. I assume this
was an error on our part.

Seems I've used gcc on a machine with a newer libc than it was built on.

Please specify the glibc version you are using and attach both the unfixed and
the fixed header.
