Yes, I think the #ifdef is a reasonable solution. Stack traces will be
inaccurate when GetIPInfo is unavailable, but I don't see any easy way around
that.

What does "ldd" on the dummy (unversioned) libgcj_bc.so say? This library
should not be linked against libgcj.so, maybe it is being linked incorrectly.
