Following wrong code compiles and executes properly with 'g++ -Wall -O2', but
compiles and terminates with std::bad_alloc() 'g++ -Wall'. In both cases

The code from trans-decl.c (create_function_arglist) cited in comment #2 was
committed by Tobias as r148517 just a few weeks ago, as a fix for PR 40383.

At the moment the parser detects and reports the error, it doesn't know that it
is parsing an array subscript. We could test for typical errors before trying
to parse the expression but that would pessimize valid code.
