The new compile farm servers are running debian etch (4.0) which
comes with autoconf 2.61 and no package for 2.59
According to Rask Ingemann Lambertsen autoconf 2.61
doesn't work correctly for GCC (see below).
What do GCC developpers do on debian etch?
