I actually am not compiling (I use an interpreted programming language, not

I have Qt 4.8.1 too, and the WebBrowser example passes the acid test
without crashing at all. Are you sure that you didn't get any error during
the compilatio

I've got 4.8.1, which is what's packaged in the latest Ubuntu LTS - the
latest Qt is 4.8.2 - which sounds like a minor release, could the bug have
been fixed
