Matteo, you should add:
--host=arm-linux-gnueabi --build=arm-linux-gnueabi
to your ./configure call.
Anyway, at

can see a complete compilation of gambas in armel.

Compiling it should be possible, just take a look at
http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=gambas2-d
I've them for Debian sid & lenny. I'll upload it to Debian this week. For
etch you'll have to wait a little more (for etch a gtk backport must be
used).
