Hi Eric, Success!!! FreeDOS is working faster then MS-DOS 7.10 (even if it has UDMA2) I identified 2 issues: 1) DOS=UMB is slow (HIGH is only a little slow) 2) tunning lbacache is very important (as bellow) I had an important machine crash and lost most of my day, and I just made a few tests

Very good news! For a few months I had a problem because some Asus MotherBoards don't recognize more than 10Gb of the HardDisks during install. I just sent to a friend my first FreeDOS distro and the problem was solved, he now can access all 80Gb with FreeFDISK :)) Thanks to all, Alain -

Hi Tom, in the application that I intend to use, the most "user perceptible" part is this index creating. So this is as good a test as any. What I would like is an easyer to use or a universally accepted program. I am willing to make a speciffic test to exactly discover what is specifically
