I'm having problems with both an internal VIA'686 and a PCI base ESS Solo1, both seem to loose interrupts. The interrupts doesn't even show up in a vmstat -i / systat so something is definitly wrong. BTW the exact same HW work just fine with -stable ? Cameron ? anyone ? -Søren To Unsubscribe:

I have a problem with the way my soundcard behaves. It stutters when using mpg123, where a small segment of music is played a number of time before moving onto the next segment. Looking at the code, I see that the DMA is set up in auto mode. I can only surmise that interrupts are not being ser

I poked at the pcm sound driver a bit, and it appears that sys/i386/isa/isa_dma.c:isa_dmastatus is returning 65280 (== snd_dmabuf bufsize == 0xff00) when there is no dma pending, which kinda blows the mind of sys/i386/isa/snd/dmabuf.c:dsp_wr_dmaupdate (which is easily confused). This breaks pcm

I haven't been able to track down exactly where this is occuring, but disabling pcm allows eliminates the crash. The build is current as of Sun 18th. The one strange thing about this box, it has two sounds cards. A build in Yamaha OPL-3 (really really crappy) and Ensoniq AudioPCI 1371 (very hack
