I didn't have NOPERL set, but it happened to me the last time I rebuilt. I
tried building again without the -j option to make, and all was well.

Do you have any local hacks in /usr/src/contrib/gcc/ ?? It seems you may
have corrupted sources. Can you remove /usr/src/contrib/gcc and ``cvs
up'' or ``cvsup'' again?
