Would anyone be interested in adding a flag argument to dmesg to toggle
kern.msgbuf_clear ? or systematicly to do the same thing ?
I often find myself wanting to clear the msgbuf but have to remember
what the sysctl MIB is for doing so and thought it would be a value add
situation to just add '-c

t quite absolutely sure here but IIRC the last time I tried setting that
via loader.conf in 8-STABLE it was not being set so I eventually added it
to sysctl.conf. Just for reference I never looked into it further.

apply
cleanly to current and stable/8 & 8.2-RELEASE systems. Once more feedback
has been received Ill update the manual page with any suggestions
regenerate the patch to accommodate and file a PR.

Regar
very long time. If for some reason
that you changed the value your self and you would like to revert back to
defaults you can remove `hostname`.mc & `hostname`.submit.mc and re-run
make(1) in the /etc/mail directory to give you a default config.
The comment in that file reads:
dnl I
;)
Shouldn't cause no harm being there but just for reference.
