You would need to edit /etc/rc.devfs.

Why are you doing that? That's not how you update your system :-)

I had a similar issue when installing RC2. What does " Loading module
if_awi.ko failed. Baystack 660 and others" refers to? I haven't had much
luck with this and every install attempt fails with this message. Plus, I
haven't see any such problem with 4.6 or 4.7.
Anybody has any idea?

hiya folks
I've just tried booting the freebsd 5-rc2 ISO on my sony vaio srx51p from
the firewire cdrw/dvd. I wasn't really expecting to be able to install
from the firewire drive but I thought it might get far enough to net
install, however the rc2 iso has done the same on boot as the other 5

Hi,
I know how to change file permissions on devfs. But which file do I have
to edit that these changes are no lost after a reboot? E.g. I altered my
scanner dev:
devfs rule add path uscanner0 mode 666
Another thing: I often need a symlink /dev/cdrom to /dev/cd0. What's the
best way to do this..
Hi,
correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't be the fdimage tool for creating
disk images under DOS on the first cd of 5.0-RC2 (and later RELEASE)?

Hi all,
I've just tested an install of 5.0-RC2 using the boot floppies FTP install
method (from ftp3.uk.freebsd.org). The machine is a 1.8GHz P4 with an
Intel 850MV2 motherboard. Overall the installation was successful,
however:
First time I booted the install disks, the machine hung on a sysins

It'd be nice to know wheich modules are loaded at 0xc04a0a74, 0xc04a0b20
and 0xc04a0e51. There is some way to make gdb know abouth the modules
too but I haven't kept up with it.
I get this when I try to enable bridging:

Hi all,
It's very stupid but anyway...
Are anybody know from where I can download most recent
GENERIC kernel(i386) for -current? I didn't know about
ufs2 changes and now as a result I can't mount ufs2 fi-
lesystems.
Thanks.
ps CC to me I'm not at list.

Just tried compiling the mgv port on current. It bombs out with the
following error message:
Making all in toolbar

Hi !
I just upgraded my build machine from DP2 to RC2. I rebuilt world and
kernel without problems. But now I have huge problems. I installed samba to
connect to this freebsd box, and then problems started. at first there were
lock problems, which were solved now (I think Jeff and someone else
