As far as I can tell, Transparency is window manager independent, You
can set it up for X and it will work no matter which wm you are using.
Try this guide for pointers.
NOTE: this guide is for gentoo, if you are not using that adjust
accordingly.

Hi,
I looked around and I couldn't find any information about how to set up
transparency in e17. I got a lot of information about how it's not fake
and such, but I couldn't find how to set it. Is their any guide
somewhere for this?
