Thanks for your answer. Backtracking gives nothing. I will recompile
with debug support. My E17 was last updated today per gentoo-emerge. It
was all correctly installed.

2. how old is your version of e17?
3. are all the files installed correctly under
~/.e/e/modules/calendar?
4. how do you have E17 installed?
