I can't find how to make the menu backgrounds translucent. I found that
control for ibar but I can't find it for menus.

I use it too but the version in AUR now is 1.6.0 whereas 1.8.1 is available to
download from the E site.

The packages for AUR are ouit of date and don't appear to be actively
maintained. I will have to build them myself.

I downloaded these tar.xz files from your site but I get this same return for
each of them when I attempt to install on Manjaro Linux:
