Is there a way to build gnome apps without the need of such daemons?

Hi folks
After the system update, I did today, my e17 has become unusable.
Here are the symptoms:
- After login the WM loads as normally, but no shortcuts are working.
Example: / is not working...
- I was able to start a software with a preconfigured multimedia
button handled by gnome-shortcuts
