Are you using a custom theme ?
I recall last time I updated, I also had to update my theme as the one I
was using was no longer compatible with the latest code base.
Did not exactly have the same issue, but I had blank menus. Could be
related issue?
Try using the default theme.

Upgrade to the latest version (i.e. 0.16.999.040) and do what Luchezar
suggested.

Most of the configuration dialogs are now modules. You can:
1) Go to Configuration -> Modules and enable them all;
2) Nuke your config and the conf modules will be anabled by default.

Neither in the configuration dialog of wallpaper and theme nor in the
"edit icon" dialog (when trying to choose a new icon) are any files or
directories displayed. There is just an empty window. And when I click
