Yeah, it looks like you missing quite a bit of the defualt theme. It would bee in the enlightenment-0.16.999.015 package, you could try downloading it again mabye, or getting the code from the Sourceforge cvs. Here's a list of what I have in my themes folder: Makefile.am default.edc default_about

Accoring to the get-e.org user guide, when I point e17setroot at an .edj file, it should change my E17 background (but not my X background unless I point it at an image file). However, e17setroot actually seems to change my X background (even when pointing at an image file) and never my E17 back
